Orlando Magic Defeat Miami Heat After a Huge Run Late in the Game

It looked like the Miami Heat had a victory locked up. The Magic were down 73-49 in the third quarter with 8:57 remaining. The Heat had been rolling all night, with Lebron James and Dwyane Wade combining for more points, 47, than the entire Magic team.

The Magic started to rally after being down 24. From that point on they started a 50-23 run to close out the game, at one point outscoring Miami 40-9, to win the game by three 99-96. It was the second biggest comeback ever for the Magic.

Jason Richardson led the way for the Magic, scoring 11 of his 24 points at the beginning of the run. He was helped along by Dwight Howard, who finished the game with 14 points and 18 rebounds. In the fourth quarter Howard managed to out rebound the entire Miami team 10-9.

James and Wade contributed 29 and 28 points, respectively, but it was not enough to keep the lead they built. Wade described the comeback as "mindboggling." James said, "Hopefully we can figure it out soon," in reference to the Heat losing games in which they guild sizable leads.
