Johnny Knoxville is set to star in 'First Man'.
The actor - best known for the 'Jackass' films in which he and a number of his friends do unusual and often painful stunts - would play a man who has to put his hard-partying life on hold when his wife is elected president of the United States.
However, the couple face problems when the dynamic of their relationship shifts as a result of living in the White House, and he is tempted back into his previously ways.
Paramount Pictures has acquired the project with Johnny in mind to play the role.
In addition to 'First Man', the studio is also reconfiguring long-time project 'Mustache Riders' for Johnny to star alongside Bam Margera and Ryan Dunn - who worked with him on the 'Jackass' movies.
'Jackass 3-D' - which was released in October 2010 - grossed a total of $169 million worldwide, although two thirds came from the US box office.
Although he has starred in a number of films, Johnny has focused recently on a TV career, appearing in 'Dudesons in America' and 'The Goode Family'.
