Drug Enforcement Administration launches drug tip-line in one state

Drug-tip line launched by DEA

One of the many states significantly affected by drug and alcohol abuse has adopted a hand from the law that has been helpful in the prevention of drug abuse. The DEA has recently set-up a drug tip-line within Florida to help curb the drug abuse problem plaguing the state.

“It is great when the public becomes part of the process in something as important as fighting drug abuse,” begins a spokesperson for Mountainside Drug Rehab and Alcohol Treatment Center. “This drug-tip line will give citizens an anonymous way to help fight the war on drugs and to help further the cause of drug abuse prevention. I think that fear often times prevents an individual from taking action or reporting a potential problem. The anonymous tip-line should eliminate any fear of being discovered as a ‘snitch’, as some call it. We’d love to see the DEA set up drug-tip lines such as this in every state and, hopefully, that can become a reality.”

While individually it is difficult to fight the war on drugs, tip-lines, such as the one in Florida, utilize the power of one and expand that into the power of thousands. Tip-lines have been reported to be highly effective in other states, and Florida remains hopeful that it will help their state to decrease the abuse of drugs among its citizens.
