by Daun Lee

The spokesman for the Heart Attack Grill died early Thursday from pneumonia. The 575 lb. man reached notoriety for his ads that he did for the Arizona grill which has a medical theme and items on the menu that are loaded with fat. One item on the menu was jokingly called the triple by-pass burger. The owner of the restaurant was saddened by the news and referred to their spokesman as a gentle giant. Despite his weight it wasn’t his high-calorie diet that contributed to his death. He died after four days in the hospital and his size was a factor in his death.

Pneumonia can develop if a person cannot effectively beat the influenza virus. Many people in the US die of various lung conditions including pneumonia, emphysema and lung cancers. Mesothelioma is a type of lung cancer that includes pneumonia as one of the symptoms which compel patients to seek medical attention for their condition.

Though it is a rarer form of lung cancer mesothelioma kills many people ever year. This lung cancer affects the lining of the lungs called the mesothelium. Mesothelioma is directly caused by exposure to asbestos which was commonly used as a building material which was banned by the government because of its toxicity. People who worked in the shipyards, construction and renovation are at risk for contracting the lethal cancer. Victims of mesothelioma have a legal means to obtain compensation for their illness and suffering.
