European Union Adds Additional Names to List of Zimbabwe Officials Banned from Traveling

The European Union has announced it has added an additional eleven names to a list of Zimbabwe officials who have been banned from traveling within the 27 nations that comprise the bloc.

While the names of the officials were not released they are believed to be mid-level government workers. Already on the list of 160 Zimbabweans banned from traveling within the EU territories is President Robert Mugabe.

EU ministers have stepped up their efforts to force Mugabe from office as the country continues to deteriorate due to political unrest and a recent cholera outbreak that has claimed more than 500 lives.

Mugabe had agreed to a power-sharing deal with his rival Morgan Tsvangirai earlier this year but that agreement has never been implemented as the two sides continue to debate how key cabinet posts should be appointed.
