Prisoner Accused of Killing and Eating Pieces of Girlfriend Found Dead in Jail Cell

Christopher Lee McCuin, the 26-year-old Texas man who had been found guilty of killing and possibly consuming pieces of his girlfriend, was found dead inside his prison cell on Sunday. Police have ruled out foul-play and an autopsy has been scheduled.

Police arrested McCuin in January for the murder of Jana Shearer. At the time of the arrest officers found a plate on his kitchen table that appeared to have human flesh on it. They also found an ear boiling in a pot of water.

McCuin had been jailed in Smith County and was pronounced dead at the East Texas Medical Center.
