New HTC Freestyle Phone Lets you Make on the Road Productivity Surprisingly Easy

Extending iLife to Mobile Phones

While tv commercials for the New HTC Freestyle phone highlight all the fun you can have with it-watching HD movies, reading books, and playing games - you can use your HTC smartphone to get work done too. Given that the HTC Freestyle has a touchscreen keyboard, one of the unique benefits that make on the road productivity surprisingly easy is to get either the iQuickOffice connect mobile or the Dataviz mobile suite package to be more productive.

The HTC Freestyle or the Samsung Epic 4G' functionality, solid construction, and video chatting capabilities make for an appealing office on the road accessory especially with the right office apps to go with it. The cooler's street price of about $100 may be steep for some, but its performance and the ability to make face to face calls make it worth the investment!

What we like about the dataviz!

You will love the smart time saving icons and the ability to import files from Dropbox, Box.net, Google Docs, iDisk and SugarSync. The premium moible app offers a easy interface and syncs also with your favorite cloud services.

For iPad computer users out there, we also want to announce that the new iLife suite is going mobile. For many of you who are not familiar with what iLife is ready below.

What is iLife?

Answer: iLife is a collection of applications bundled into every new Macintosh or available for purchase from Apple. The most recent version is iLife '09 and includes the following applications:

• iPhoto is an image management application. It allows users to import photographs from cameras or disks, edit the photographs using basic image editing tools, or create albums and slide shows which can be published on the web or saved to a file.

• iMovie allows users create movies from a variety of file sources. The sources can include digital video cameras, DV-encoded movie files or a collection of pictures. The final result can be written to DVD, CD, DV camera or saved as a file.

• iDVD allows users to create a DVD from movies, photographs from iPhoto, or both. iDVD provides users with a variety of themes and menu schemes. Music stored in the user's iTunes library can be added to the project.

• GarageBand allows users to create multi-track songs from a collection of music loops or from musical instruments attached to the computer. • iWeb allows users to create simple web pages using content provided by iPhoto, iMovie and iTunes.

The New iPad Life: Is iLife Going Mobile?

"Extending iLife to the portables, especially devices like the iPad, comes comes from a need to reach a wide range of computer users. Primary this comes from the evolution of the device that has mobility matched with functionality. iMovie which led the way for the entire iLife package was introduced for iOS once the iPhone became capable of recording full 720p HD video. Though the iPhone 3Gs had simple video editing functions, they were nothing compared to what the iPhone 4 would be capable of with iMovie. While the feature may seem unnecessary since one could easily sync video their Mac and edit within iMovie for OS X, it defeats the purpose of the new social networking workflow of iDevices. As iPhone apps begin allowing video upload, and as MMS messaging and email of video content become a standard, it seems natural for these Web 2.0 features to move to the immediate, rather than delayed, workflow."

The relationship between the mobile version and the base version is still unsure, and there is likely to be a lot of reflexivity between the two.
