NBA Schedule Monday Dec. 8: Orlando Magic Look to Stay Hot on Road, Face LA Clippers

With just four games on the NBA schedule for Monday, and none of the four looking particularly attractive the featured match-up will be the Orlando Magic (15-5) hitting the road to take on the Los Angeles Clippers (4-16).

The Magic are an impressive 6-2 on the road this year while the Clippers are an awful 2-9 at home. Once again Orlando has relied on their superstar Dwight Howard who just recorded his 16th 20-20 game of his career when he scored 21 points and grabbed 23 rebounds against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday. LA has been atrocious, a huge disappointment to Baron Davis who came to the Clippers looking to lead a team but has been left with a disaster. Tip-off is set for 10:30 p.m. ET.

Dwyane Wade has led his Miami Heat (11-9) to three straight wins and with a home game against the Charlotte Bobcats (7-13) that could easily stretch to four games. The Bobcats are a dismal 1-5 on the road while the Heat have started 6-3 on their home court. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

Only real NBA fans will be tuning in to watch the Oklahoma City Thunder (2-19) host the Golden State Warriors (5-15) on Monday night. Seattle may actually be grateful they lost their franchise to Oklahoma City as the Thunder raises questions whether they will hit 70 losses on the year. If they can’t beat the Warriors at home they will be an odds-on favorite for the dubious honor. Golden State is just 2-10 on the road but a 1-9 home mark from the Thunder isn’t exactly intimidating. The Warriors have lost nine in a row, the longest current streak in the NBA. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.

In what may be the most intriguing game of the night the Houston Rockets (13-7) will take their 7-4 road mark to the Memphis Grizzlies (5-15) on Monday. On the bright side for the Grizzlies is the fact they have four wins at home, on the bad side is they have five losses at home. Yao Ming has played strong to keep the Rockets solid as Tracy McGrady has missed the last five games. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
