Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum have welcomed their first child together.
The model-turned-TV presenter - who married the jazz musician in 2009 - gave birth to a baby girl, Lyra, on Wednesday (02.03.11) and both mother and daughter are doing well.
A spokesman for the couple said: "Musician Jamie Cullum and his wife, the author and presenter Sophie Dahl, have come parents. Their daughter Lyra was born on March 2. They are over the moon."
The name Lyra comes from the word lyre, a small harp used by the ancient Greeks and it is also one of the 48 constellations named by the 2nd-century astronomer Ptolemy.
The couple are notoriously private about their relationship, although soon after they married Sophie, 33, confirmed she "loves" calling 31-year-old Jamie her husband.
She said: "My husband is a good cook. I love saying 'husband'. It's funny that something so universal should make you so excited to say."
Discussing her partnership with Jamie, she said: "Making that promise is a sacred thing and not really for anyone else. It's to be witnessed by your close family and your close friends.
"It was wonderful and joyful and that's all I want to say."
