Denise Welch skates off DOI

Denise Welch became the latest star to be voted off 'Dancing On Ice' last night (06.03.11).

The 52-year-old 'Loose Women' panellist - who performed a slow and steady routine alongside professional partner Matt Evers to hit '80s tune 'Alone' - was unanimously sent home by judges Emma Bunton, Jason Gardiner and Robin Cousins after landing in the bottom two alongside war hero Johnson Beharry.

However, Denise's exit from the ITV1 show wasn't without drama, as her 59-year-old actor husband Tim Healy marched on to the stage to confront acid-tongued judge Jason, who slammed his wife's skating skills.

Jason said: "It shows that you are better at the slower stuff - but I would like to say it was a little bit like watching two people play Twister. It was like Matt did a position then he assisted you into another position, there was no flow."

While Denise pleaded with her spouse to go back to his seat in the audience, the 'Benidorm' star defended his wife's honour.

He told Jason: "She's 52 and she's got four jobs! How many jobs have you got, eh?"

A visibly shocked Denise then joked to 'Dancing On Ice' hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield: "It's only the transvestite off of Benidorm!"

However, when told she would be skating off the show later in the night, the bolshie blonde admitted she had performed the best she could.

She said: "It was bound to happen at some point wasn't it? But I've had the most fantastic time, the experience of a lifetime. I loved it, I did the best I could the second time."
