Britain's Princess Diana would have approved of Kate Middleton.
The late princess' eldest son Prince William will marry his fiancee Kate at Westminster Abbey on April 29 and Diana's close friend, actor Tom Conti thinks she would have been happy with his choice of bride but warned about making comparisons between the two.
When asked if Diana would have approved of Kate, he replied: Yes, I don't see why not," before adding "Let the girl her be herself, and I hope she'll be happy."
The 'Derailed' actor also revealed Diana - who was killed in a Paris car crash in 1997 - was a loving mother, who was devoted to her children, William and his brother Prince Harry, with former husband Prince Charles.
He told the Daily Telegraph: "She was delightful, lovely. The one thing that Diana thought about all the time was the boys."
Meanwhile Diana's former chef Darren McGrady has revealed the tragic princess had planned a homecoming party at Kensington Palace with her sons upon her return from her ill-fated trip to Paris in 1997.
He told Hello! magazine: "I'd already got the food in. I remember what I was going to cook but I never talk about it. It was going to be a happy day as it always was at Kensington Palace when the boys were coming home.
"She was meant to be flying into Heathrow and was going to wait for them to come in from Balmoral."
