Ivo Karlovic Sets World Record for Fastest Serve

Highly Coveted Tennis Record Set by Croatian

According to a Sunday confirmation by the International Tennis Federation, Croatian tennis player Ivo Karlovic officially broke the world record for the fastest serve on Saturday. The serve was performed during a Davis Cup doubles match. Karlovic struck the 156 mph serve during the fourth set of the match, effectively breaking American player Andy Roddick's previous record of 155 mph.

"I noticed that while serving, saw it on the screen...It is really great," said Karlovic, who is the tallest player on the ATP circuit at 6'10.

Karlovic and his partner went on to lose the match itself, but at least Karlovic went away with a historic victory of his own.
