Liam Gallagher thinks Beady Eye are the best

Liam Gallagher has proclaimed Beady Eye 'the best band' on the "planet".

The 'Bring the Light' singer - who formed his current group with former Oasis bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock - insists he doesn't worry too much what people think of his band's new album 'Different Gear, Still Speeding', but is "excited" about hearing their responses.

He said: "I feel I'm in the best band that is on this planet, right here today.

"We are excited. We want people to f***ing like it as much as we like it, but realistically, not everybody's gonna like it as much as we do. We're interested to hear what people think about it. But it's not gonna make or break our day."

The 38-year-old musician also admitted he will never "retire" from music - because he regards his decision to pursue a career in rock 'n' roll at a young age as "retirement" from the world of work.

He explained in an interview with Billboard.com: "I retired the day I joined the band. I retired the day I left school. I said, 'I ain't working for that bull***t. I'm gonna join a band.' I am retired. I've never worked in my f***ing life.

"I've been in a band. It ain't about 'What are you gonna do when you retire?' Do f**k all and sit there like a vegetable? Don't think so man. I'm gonna keep moving."
