Denise Welch wishes her husband had "hit" 'Dancing On Ice' judge Jason Gardiner.
The 'Loose Women' presenter - who was voted off the series on Sunday night (06.03.11) - was so annoyed by the acid-tongued judge's comments, where he slammed her 'Benidorm' star husband Tim Healy for having bad breath, that she wishes her spouse had punched him when he confronted him live on the ITV1 show.
She explained: "It wasn't so much what he said on the show that bothered me - none of that ever has done - it was the fact he made it personal the next day. He has no right to say those things about Tim. It's completely unnecessary. How dare he say my husband has bad breath?
"First of all it's not true - I wouldn't have married a man who stand of p**s - and secondly it takes it away from the fact this is supposed to be a skating show. It's so upsetting. I thought he was my friend. If I'd known what he was going to say, then I'd have told Tim to hit him!"
Slamming the Australian choreographer as "childish and unfunny", the 52-year-old star admitted she takes comfort in the fact that Jason will never experience she same level of public support she has throughout her time on 'Dancing On Ice'.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "This time he has over-stepped the mark with what he said about Tim. To respond in that way is just childish and unfunny. I think Tim will be quite upset by the insult. It is cowardly and unnecessary.
"He will never know what it's like to be bottom of the leaderboard and the public having to vote hard to get you through. That is a lot of people picking up the phone. It's a lovely, fantastic experience."
