Karl Lagerfeld impressed during his Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week today (08.03.11), displaying an apocalyptic look complete with smoke, fire and craters.
The legendary designer sent models down a catwalk fashioned into a wooden path leading through smoking lava, wearing biker boots and mechanic's boiler suits from his autumn/winter 2011/12 collection at the show held in the Grand Palais.
Many celebrity guests watched the impressive volcanic-themed display, including Lily Allen, singer Duffy, Kanye West and Ralph Fiennes - who was seen taking pictures of the spectacle before escaping from the camera lenses himself.
Meanwhile, Stefano Pilati showcased his latest Yves Saint Laurent collection, featuring collared backless dresses, jumpsuits and black suits with white panelling in front of an audience which included Jane Birkin, Ronnie Wood and Florence Welch while Mary J Blige sang at the Michael Kors show, which was held in a huge tent at the US Embassy and was described as being like the "most glamorous wedding in Connecticut".
Yesterday (07.03.11), Chloe showcased wide-leg trousers, dungarees and ponchos, in keeping with its familiar 70s theme with snakeskin patterns appearing on blouses, jumpsuits and tube dresses throughout while Giambattista Valli offered leather mini-skirts and quilted coats.
