Missouri officials confirmed 3 law enforcement officers were shot Tuesday in St. Louis. Two U.S. marshals and one police officer were serving an arrest warrant at the Dutchtown home of 36-year-old Carlos Boles. According to Boles’ sister, he refused to surrender and opened fire.
"Two Deputy U.S. Marshals and one task force officer from the Eastern District of Missouri were serving an arrest warrant this morning at a residence in St. Louis when they were involved in a shooting – all three were struck by gunfire and have been taken to a local hospital," U.S. Marshals spokesman Jeff Carter said in a statement.
According to sources, the police officer suffered a broken shoulder after a bullet ricocheted off his bullet proof vest. One of the marshals is in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head while the other is in fair condition with wounds to the leg or foot. Authorities have not released the names of the officers. Boles was shot and killed.
