Harry Hill was crowned TV Personality of the Year at last night's (08.03.11) TRIC (Television and Radio Industries Club) Awards.
The 'TV Burp' star beat off stiff competition from the likes of 'Chatty Man' host Alan Carr and Jeremy Clarkson - whose BBC show 'Top Gear' was awarded Best TV Entertainment Show - to take home the highly coveted accolade.
Bucking the trend of 'EastEnders' emerging victorious from multiple recent awards ceremonies, 'Coronation Street' took home the gong for TV Soap of the Year, with stars Brooke Vincent and Sacha Parkinson - who play lesbian teen lovers Sophie Webster and Sian Powers in the ITV1 soap - accepting the award from Peter Andre.
However, Jessie Wallace - whose 'EastEnders' alter-ego, mouthy Kat Moon, recently returned to Albert Square - secured one award for the BBC One show, winning TV Soap Personality of the Year.
Meanwhile, ITV1 series 'Downton Abbey' was awarded Best HD Drama, while 'Strictly Come Dancing' emerged victorious in the TV Reality Show category at the star-studded bash at London's exclusive Grosvenor House hotel.
