Michael Kors speaks about London store

Michael Kors has compared his new store to "a delicious pizza".

The American designer, who opened his first shop in Paris last week and is about to open another in London's Regent's Street, says it will be the shopping equivalent of eating something that tastes good but is affordable.

He said: "I love indulgent caviar but I also enjoy a delicious pizza - they're just different experiences. The same goes for my new store."

According to Michael, the new store will aim to embrace British style by mixing lots of different looks in one place.

He told vogue.com: "The point of the shop is to mix things up and nowhere does this like the UK. It's all about mixing couture with the high street, the high street with a piece from Portobello. The simple truth is lots of designers talk about this but not a lot actually do.

"It'll be a fun, light and quick way of getting the Michael Kors experience under one roof."

The designer already has a flagship store in London's Bond Street and thinks the Regent Street addition will ensure an even bigger range of fashion-lovers will have access to his pieces.

He explained: "In Bond Street there is such an incredible global mix of people and I find that so intriguing. Regent Street is similar in that way. It fuses high end with low end, it's fun and has this great energy to it."
