A Romanian woman has become the world's youngest grandmother at the age of 23.
Rifca Stanescu was 12 when she had her first child Maria, who went on to give birth to son Ion at the age of 11.
The new grandmother explained that she eloped when she was just 11 because she feared her father wanted her to marry another village boy.
A year after Maria was born she gave birth to her son Nicolae.
She said: "I am happy to be a grandmother but wished more for Maria."
