by Daun Lee

Today, Warner Brother’s announced it will jump on the bandwagon of companies that will utilize Facebook in marketing strategies. Facebook will be offering pay per view services for its subscribers. Although there is some concern on how it will affect the business of Netflix it is not likely to be a threat initially. Facebook doesn’t have the ability to stream movies on television sets like Netflix but that could change in the future. Facebook boasts almost 500 billion users worldwide but doesn’t have many people on the payment platform.

Over the past few years companies and even political movements are seeing the importance social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. These website reach millions of people worldwide and are often utilized by SEO and advertisers to reach consumers. Media disaster Charlie Sheen has effectively used Twitter to generate some income. Many people trust the opinions of their friends so in the future more people who ‘Like’ something on Facebook could be a good reference point for movies.

Social media has become a powerful force in advertising and businesses and SEO realize the impact these sights have on the decisions of consumers. Though internet searches through search engines still help more people determine what they will purchase and where, frequently visited social media sites will become more influential on the purchasing decisions of many consumers. The choice to stream movies will further boost the marketing importance of Facebook. As more people utilize Twitter and Facebook for socializing and SEO, these sites will have a greater impact on the advertising world.
