EastEnders' Ronnie Branning will come clean about swapping her dead baby with Kat Moon's tot.
The troubled mum - played by Samantha Womack - will confess all to cops about the tragic incident, which saw her discover newborn James lifeless after passing away from cot death before switching him with little Tommy Moon in a moment of madness on New Year's Eve (31.12.10).
Rather than running away from Albert Square, Ronnie will be wracked with guilt keeping the terrible truth to herself and will hand herself in at the local police station.
The controversial storyline - which saw the BBC swarmed with complaints from distraught viewers - will come to an end next month, with fans seeing the police investigation unfold before their eyes.
However, it is not yet known whether Ronnie will face time behind bars or be let off and leave Walford in the hope of starting a new life somewhere else.
Meanwhile, although Kat (Jessie Wallace) is initially thrilled to be reunited with her baby son, she faces an uphill battle as she struggles to bond with baby Tommy.
An 'EastEnders' insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "It's a tough thing for Kat to get her head around. She's been through so much pain mourning the loss of Tommy and now she's got to get used to him being alive."
