Roof disaster for Enders' Masood family

EastEnders' Masood family will be struck by disaster when the roof of the Argee Bhajee restaurant collapses.

Loved-up teen Tamwar (Himesh Patel) and his future wife Afia Khan (Meryl Fernandes) will be celebrating their engagement at the family curry house with their close friends and relatives when tragedy strikes, and his hunky brother Syed (Marc Elliott) is injured in the chaos.

An 'EastEnders' source told Digital Spy: "These dramatic scenes were filmed a couple of weeks ago and will air in early April, providing some big drama for the Masoods on what should have been a happy day for Tamwar.

"Despite the ill-feeling between him and his parents, Syed is in the building when the disastrous party takes place. But what the accident could mean for the family feud remains to be seen."

Burly builder Greg Jessop (Stefan Booth) recently warned the cash-strapped Masood family that the roof of the Argee Bhajee needed urgent repair work and new roof beams.

However, being plagued by money worries, Zainab - played by Nina Wadia - made the controversial decision to avoid shelling out for the vital restoration work.
