Dave Grohl never thought he could juggle having a family with his career.
The Foo Fighters rocker- who has daughters Violet, four, and 22-month-old Harper with wife Jordyn - is grateful he is able to take time out from his career and take his kids on the road because he knows other people aren't so lucky.
He said: "Having had such a good relationship with my mom and dad, I always imagined I'd have a family myself one day.
"I just couldn't see it happening while I was playing in a band and going on tour, being a working, travelling musician.
"Then it dawned on me that you can do both and fortunately, we are able to. A lot of people struggle with it and we know how fortunate we are hat we can have the luxury of touring less and having our families come out when we want or need them to."
Dave also revealed he cemented his relationship with Jordyn - who he had been casually dating before "freaking out" and ignoring her - after a disaster with one of his bandmates made him reassess his life.
He explained: "We went on tour and our drummer Taylor Hawkins overdosed. It was bad. Really bad.
"And it made me put things into perspective.
"When we get back to LA, I called her up and said, 'Let's go for a drink.' Just to wind me up, she appeared wearing a wedding ring. and we've been together ever since."
