Patsy Palmer is keen to bag a role for her son in 'EastEnders'.
The 38-year-old actress - who is currently on maternity leave from the BBC One soap, in which she plays feisty flame-haired Bianca Butcher - admitted the long hours and hard work demanded by bosses of the show would help to keep 19-year-old Charley on the straight and narrow.
She told The Sun newspaper: "I'd be really happy for him to be in 'EastEnders'. It's quite old-fashioned and they are strict. They really look after young actors. I hate to think what would have happened to me if I hadn't got that break as Bianca. 'EastEnders' saved my life.
"I'm very happy for him to follow in my footsteps, just so long as he wants to act and doesn't have a notion of just wanting to be famous. It's very dangerous when kids say, 'I just want to be famous'."
Patsy - who is mum to Charley, as well as Fenton, 10, Emilia, nine, and three-month-old baby Bertie - recently explained she will resume her role as mouthy mum Bianca "when the time is right".
She said: "My contract came to an end soon after I gave birth to Bertie and, as I have already said, I just want to spend every minute with him.
"I love 'EastEnders' and have every intention of returning when the time is right for me and the show."
