Queen Elizabeth's 5pm tea break

Britain's Queen Elizabeth insists on making her own cup of tea every afternoon.

The 84-year-old monarch is happy to be served by her servants at all times, except at 5pm when she insists on making Earl Grey with Malvern water for herself and her guests, regardless of where she is at the time.

Etiquette expert Jean Broke-Smith revealed: "She is a very traditional lady and when she has visitors, no matter where she is in the world, she pours tea for herself and all of her guests at 5pm. Queen Elizabeth is a very proud hostess."

As well as enjoying a specific type of tea, the queen also enjoys specially-made chocolate.

The monarch is sent small boxes of dark chocolate - tailored to her tastes and containing more cocoa solids than most other confectionary items - to Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, and Sandringham every year by royal warrant holders Cadbury.

Cadbury spokesperson Tony Bilsborough explained: "We do make the queen a bar of dark chocolate. It's not for sale to the public. We make this for her, under the terms of the royal mark.

"We've been providing chocolates to the Royal Family since Victorian times but I cannot discuss the recipe."

The chocolate is made by a team of three using specially-reserved equipment at the firm's factory in Birmingham.

The production equipment lies unused when the royal bars are not being produced.

Each bar is wrapped in gold foil and encased in a red wrapper stamped with the royal crest and 'By Appointment to HM The Queen'.

The chocolate is branded as Cadbury's Superior Culinary Dark Chocolate, although it is known by staff at the company as 'Royal Household chocolate'.
