Boston Celtics Set Franchise Record in Victory over Milwaukee Bucks
The Boston Celtics held the Milwaukee Bucks to a franchise-record 56 points in their win last night. Celtics opponents scores haven't been kept this low since 1955 when they beat the Milwakee Hawks. The Bucks managed to score only nine points in the entire first quarter of the game.
Going into the fourth quarter the bucks had scored a measly 38 points, up from 22 at the half and a new NBA record through three quarters. Only one Bucks player was able to reach double digit scoring (Earl Barron with 10) and stars Andrew Bogut and John Salmons combined for only eight points, all of which came from Bogut.
Ray Allen was the top player for the Celtics with 17 points, three steals and three assists. Part of the blame can be placed on Milwaukee's travel schedule. They lost an hour changing time zones when flying to Boston and lost another hour with daylight savings time.
Bucks coach Scott Skiles said after the game, "That's about as humiliating a defeat as you'll ever see."
