Ellen DeGeneres' stalker has been sentenced to three years probation.
Karen Grace Sjoden was given strict orders to stay away from the US chat show host and her wife Portia De Rossi after pleading no contest to charges of misdemeanor trespassing today (14.03.11) after she was found on the grounds of the couple's home in California last month.
She was ordered to check in with Judge Marsha Revel every sixty days and barred from any electronic or physical contact with Ellen, Portia and Michael Hathaway, who is an associate of Ellen's.
An eyewitness said Karen - who has been kept in custody on $200,000 bail since she was arraigned in a Beverly Hills courtroom on February 14 - appeared incoherent during her court appearance, during which she refused a mental health evaluation.
They told RadarOnline.com: " Everything seemed to be going well but then [Sjoden] started rambling that, 'I sent a letter to Ellen asking her for a job and I assumed she hired me.'
"Her sister Krista Taylor was in court and she was sighing. She had seemed happy that a plea deal was being put in place but as Sjoden started rambling her look changed to complete distress."
The 49 year old was discovered by security at Ellen and Portia's mansion before she made it into the house itself and did not make contact with either star.
A representative said at the time: "The property is protected by a 24-hour security team that detected and detained the intruder until she has turned over to the custody of Beverly Hills Police officers."
