Numerous States Propose Immigration Reform

The problem of immigration reform is an issue for a number of states. While the Feds are struggling with the problem of balancing the budget, they aren’t concerned for the moment with immigration. Illegal immigration is a serious issue for many states. The states including Utah, Arizona, Oklahoma and Texas are proposing immigration reform in order to reduce the stress on their budgets and cut down crime associated with illegal immigration. Arizona’s new immigration policy is very tough on illegal immigrant while Utah’s new policy is gentler. The Feds maintain that states don’t have the constitutional rights to regulate immigration policies. Many of the states are asking for reform while the Feds are generally unconcerned with immigration policies at the moment.

                                Illegal immigrants face deportation throughout the US if they don’t apply for citizenship with the aid of immigration attorneys. There are many benefits of becoming a naturalized citizen including access to social programs and the right to vote that cannot be realized by the illegal immigrant. Though the citizenship process is a long one an immigrant should apply for citizenship assisted by an immigration attorney to avoid the ramifications of being illegal.

                                Many of the above mentioned states are employing their police forces to find and retain illegal immigrants putting more illegals at risk for deportation.
