Attorneys say that remains found a half a mile from the home of missing toddler Caylee Anthony’s grandparents, resemble the 3-year-old. Anthropological measurements and the color of hair found with the remains match those of Caylee, who disappeared in June.
The skeletal remains were found Thursday morning by a utility worker. The child’s body was taken to the medical examiner’s office for identification and evidence.
Following the discovery, the home of George and Cindy Anthony was searched and investigators say they “absolutely” found something of interest. Caylee and her mother Casey Anthony often stayed at the house.
Caylee disappeared in June but Casey waited a month to report her missing. Casey, 22, was charged with first-degree murder last month. Cadaver dogs have picked up the scent of death in Anthony’s car and in her parent’s back yard. Air quality tests found evidence of human decomposition and chloroform in the trunk of the vehicle.
