Coleen Nolan quits Loose Women in show shake-up

Coleen Nolan has quit 'Loose Women' as part of a shake-up of the show.

The 46-year-old panellist - who has been a regular on the daytime series for the past 11 years - will make her final appearance on the chat show this summer, with former journalist Janet Street-Porter and Geordie comic Sarah Millican reportedly set to take her place.

However, Coleen admitted making the decision to leave wasn't an easy one.

In a statement to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: "I've had the most amazing 10 years since I started doing 'Loose Women' but I wanted to leave on a high. During my time on the panel I've had some of the most hilarious moments and outrageous discussions ever - and I've made mates for life.

"'Loose Women' saved me when I was at my lowest after my first marriage broke down and I was a young mum struggling to find my confidence again. I've loved every moment and it's been one heck of a ride but there comes a time when you have to move on to new adventures and that is what I intend to do.

"I'm not quitting TV, that's for sure. There have been tears but I wouldn't have missed it for the world."

Coleen's decision to leave the show reportedly came after ITV1 bosses chose to revamp 'Loose Women' with the introduction of a number of fresh faces, including Janet and Sarah.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: "'Loose Women' is one of ITV's most popular daytime shows so we owe it to the audience to keep it fresh. We're revamping it for the autumn, so as part of that we're having some new regular presenters.

"Sarah has been brilliant when she has been on and, let's face it, Janet is ideal for a show like 'Loose Women'. We don't want the show to go stale so it was time for a refresh. We reached the decision with Coleen by mutual consent and she has lots of other projects she wants to work on."
