Prince William and Kate Middleton choose wedding music

Official music for the wedding of Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton has been chosen.

Two choirs - The Choir of Westminster Abbey and The Chapel Royal Choir - will join The London Chamber Orchestra, The Fanfare Team from the Central Band of the Royal Air Force and The State Trumpeters of The Household Cavalry to perform at the wedding service on April 29, with the pair said to have chosen "well-known hymns and choral works" for them.

A statement on the official royal wedding website read: "Both Prince William and Miss Middleton have taken a great deal of interest and care in choosing the music for their Service, which will include a number of well-known hymns and choral works as well as some specially-commissioned pieces."

Prince Charles' official harpist Claire Jones is to play at the reception, hosted by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.

The post was reinstated in 2000 after nearly 90 years.

Claire revealed she has never met Kate, and has yet to decide on what she will play or wear, but is excited about the day.

She told the Daily Mail: "I have performed for Prince William before - both privately and on a rugby pitch in 2008 - but I've never met Kate. It will be lovely to. I'm very excited and absolutely honoured.

"I've only been asked within the last couple of weeks so it's all very new and I've yet to decide on the repertoire. I'll also be looking for something special to wear. This is an historic occasion and truly a dream come true."

Meanwhile two of Kate's friends have recorded a song they believe is perfect for the couple's big day.

Ollie Baines and Jules Knight - along with their Blake bandmates Humphrey Berney and Stephen Bowman - were approached by composer Simon May to record his song 'All Of Me' and with plans to release it in April they think it would be the ideal song for the royal wedding.

They said: "In 'All Of Me' Simon and his team have written a song that perfectly fits the romance and commitment of a wedding. We are really honoured to have been asked to sing it and we hope that the song will touch the heart of the nation and be a special song for many couples on their wedding day."
