Egyptian Bus Plunges into Canal, at least 51 Killed

At least 51 people have died and ten more left injured after an Egyptian public bus skidded off a road in Darhut and plunged into a canal.

There have been conflicting reports as to how the accident occurred with some saying the bus driver tried to avoid a collision with an oncoming truck while others said the driver was attempting to overtake another vehicle.

The bus had been traveling from Cairo to Minya when the accident occurred.

Officials expect the death toll to rise as divers continue to search for bodies.
