NFL Scores Week 15: Houston Texans Stun Tennessee Titans, Prevent Home-Field Advantage Throughout Playoffs

Matt Schaub threw for 284 yards and a touchdown, Andre Johnson had 207 yards receiving and a TD and Steve Slaton collected 100 yards rushing as the Houston Texans (7-7) stunned the Tennessee Titans (12-2) 13-12 on Sunday for their fourth straight win.

The Titans jumped in front 3-0 in the first quarter on a 26-yard field goal from Rob Bironas but Kris Brown scored eth equalizer for the Texans in the second quarter with a 32-yard boot and Houston grabbed the lead when Schaub found Johnson on a 13-yard toss to move in front 10-3. Bironas managed to pull the Titans to within 10-6 when he hit from 23-yards out in the closing seconds of the first half.

Bironas hit his third field goal of the game in the third quarter to get the Titans to within 10-9 but Brown countered with a field goal of his own in the fourth quarter to push the advantage back to four.

Tennessee had plenty of opportunities to take control of the game but their drives continued to stall and with 5:23 left in the game they had to settle for another Bironas field goal and that would be the last time they put points on the board.

Houston’s defense limited the Titans running game to just 100 yards and forced a pair of turnovers. Tennessee could have locked up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs if they had won.
