Seann William Scott, Jason Biggs and Eugene Levy have signed to star in 'American Reunion'.
The key cast members of 'American Pie' will come together once again for the sequel, which studio bosses at Universal hope will make the franchise popular again.
Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge are also said to be in talks to come on board the project, which will start filming in May, according to TheWrap.
And despite Seann entering rehab for "health and personal reasons" this week, his agent confirmed to PEOPLE that the 34-year-old star will reprise his role as obnoxious, hard-partying Stifler.
Last month he talked of how the new film - which will be the fourth in the franchise - would show what happened to the old characters once they're well pass their awkward teenage years.
He told WorstPreviews.net: "It would be everybody back. The idea would probably be the kind of high-school reunion. It would be centred around that. Just catching up with everybody.
"I love seeing these guys at that age, they are fatter, Stifler is chubby. It's that age where you're 29-30, and you go 'is this really where I thought I was going to be?' It's kind of a different point in your life. There might be something there."
'American Pie' was a hit in 1999, and was followed by 'American Pie 2', with 'American Wedding' the last of the films to come out in 2003.
Universal has since released a number of spin-offs without the original cast members which have gone straight to DVD.
