NFL Scores Week 15: New England Patriots Blast Oakland Raiders to Keep AFC East Title Hopes Alive

Matt Cassel threw for 218 yards and four touchdowns, Sammy Morris rushed for 117 yards and a TD and Randy Moss had 67 yards receiving and a pair of scores as the New England Patriots (9-5) blasted the Oakland Raiders (3-11) 49-26 on Sunday to keep their hopes of an AFC East title alive.

New England jumped to a 21-0 first quarter lead as Cassel hit Kevin Faulk on a 7-yard toss and then found Randy Moss on a 20-yard touchdown before Morris scored on a 29-yard run. JaMarcus Russell stopped the bleeding for the Raiders when he hit Johnnie Lee Higgins on 56-yard touchdown pass but Oakland never really posed a threat.

The second quarter started with a bang as Cassel hit Wes Welker on a 13-yard touchdown pass but on the ensuing kickoff Justin Miller went 91-yarsd for a TD to get the Raiders to within 28-14. That score lasted for 15 seconds, just long enough for Ellis Hobbs to take the kickoff 95-yards for a touchdown to push the score to 35-14.

Cassel added a 9-yard touchdown pass to Moss in the third and Lamont Jordan scored on a 49-yard run in the fourth to wrap up the scoring for the Patriots who racked up 487 yards of total offense, 277 of those yards coming on the ground.

New England is currently tied with the NY Jets and Miami Dolphins atop the AFC East.
