Shia LaBeouf has signed up to star in 'Horns'.
The 'Transformers' actor will appear in and develop the movie based on the Joe Hill novel with Keith Bunin writing the adaptation.
Cathy Schulman from Mandalay Pictures confirmed Shia had been cast in the lead role of Ig Perrish - a young man who wakes up from a night out to discover he is growing horns.
She said: "Shia is an extremely gifted actor who responded to this novel with total enthusiasm from the beginning.
"We share the passion to bring the iconic character of Ig Perrish to life."
Shia - who recently broke up a relationship with British actress Carey Mulligan - has a number of films currently in the pipeline.
As well as the forthcoming third 'Transformers' movie 'Dark of the Moon', the 24-year-old star is also set to star in 'The Wettest Country in the World', about bootleggers in the US depression.
