Kate Middleton's dress to be sold

A see-through dress worn by Britain's Kate Middleton is to be auctioned today.

The garment - which is being sold at the Passion for Fashion event in Central London - was modelled by Kate at a charity fashion show while at St Andrew's University in Scotland, and is expected to far surpass the estimated price of £10,000.

Auctioneer Kerry Taylor confirmed earlier this week there has been international interest in the dress, thought to have been worn when Prince William - who she will marry at Westminster Abbey on April 29 - fell for her.

She said: "I am quite astonished by the amount of interest from all over the world, from Korea to Japan to America.

"Literally there's global interest in the dress and that reflects the interest in Kate Middleton."

Two dresses worn by William's mother, the late Princess Diana are also going up for sale - a pink chiffon gown worn to a Japanese state dinner in 1986 and a white lace evening dress.
