Investigators: Body is Most Likely Caylee Anthony

Investigators believe that remains found near the home Caylee Anthony are those of the missing toddler. The skull of a young child was found Thursday a half a mile from the home of Caylee’s grandparents, where she often stayed with her mother Casey Anthony.

Police searched the area for more evidence over the weekend and recovered a trail of bones.  Orange County sheriff’s spokesman Carlos Padilla says investigators believed the body is the missing 3-year-old as no other children have been reported missing in the area, the remains are consists with a child of Caylee’s age and the body was found close to her grandparent’s home.

After the remains were discovered, police searched George and Cindy Anthony’s home and uncovered “absolutely” something of interest.

Caylee went missing in June but Casey Anthony waited a month to report her missing. She has been charged with first-degree murder in Caylee’s disappearance. Cadaver dogs have picked up the scent of death in Anthony’s car and in her parent’s back yard. Air quality tests found evidence of human decomposition and chloroform in the trunk of the vehicle.

DNA results on the remains are pending.
