Gas Line Explosion Lights up Minneapolis Sky

by Daun Lee

Early Thursday morning around 8:30, a gas line exploded in Minneapolis shooting flames into the sky. One resident reported via Twitter that he could feel the heat two blocks away, according to MSNBC online. The explosion occurred in front of a grocery store, Cub Foods, which is a residential and business area.  There aren’t any reported injuries but residents are being evacuated as firemen are working on putting out the flames. The gas line has been shut off and local highways are closed to avoid distracted driving.

Luckily for the local residents, no one was harmed by the explosion and subsequent blaze, in contrast to the natural gas explosion which occurred in Pennsylvania in early February. That natural gas explosion killed one person and injured numerous residents. The explosion in Pennsylvania was caused by faulty gas lines but there has been no word on what caused the Minneapolis gas line explosion. People injured by faulty gas lines along with a competent car accident attorney can seek compensation for the pain caused.

Car accident lawyers employed by people sustaining injuries can appeal to the courts to hold business or individuals accountable for their carelessness. Accident victims can incur medical debt and lose time from work while they recover from the incident. These accident victims when aided by car accident attorneys can be rewarded financial damages from the negligent parties in this case the gas companies whose faulty or ill- maintained gas lines cause injuries.
