Monday Night Football Scores: Philadelphia Eagles Remain in Playoff Chase with Win Over Cleveland Browns

Donovan McNabb threw for 290 yards and a pair of touchdowns, Jason Avant had 101 yards receiving and the Philadelphia Eagles (8-5-1) collected 418 yards of offense while limiting the Cleveland Browns (4-10) to just 196 yards in a 30-10 victory on Monday Night Football to keep their playoff hopes alive.

McNabb put the Eagles on the board early in the first quarter on a 14-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Curtis and after Phil Dawson got the Browns on the board with a 27-yard field goal David Akers countered with a 24-yard boot and Philadelphia carried a 10-3 advantage into the second.

The Eagles defense provided the only points in the second frame as Asante Samuel picked off Ken Dorsey and returned it 50 yards for a touchdown to give Philly a  17-3 lead at halftime.

After Akers kicked a pair of field goals the Eagles put the game away in the fourth as McNabb found Greg Lewis on a 10-yard touchdown pass with 11:14 left in the game. Cleveland managed to find the endzone but it wasn’t their offense that scored the points as Brandon McDonald returned an interception 24-yards for a touchdown.

The win keeps the Eagles slim playoff hopes alive as they still need to win out and have the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons drop at least one of their final two games.
