Reaching Golfers at the Grassroots Level

Businesses that want to market to golfers, but don't have the budget to sponsor a PGA TOUR event, have a new, more affordable and effective grassroots option. The U.S. Putting Tour is offering a variety of customized sponsorship and marketing opportunities with its newly-launched tour and U.S. championship.

The 2011 USPT Championship is being held September 24-30 in Carlsbad, California at The Crossings. Title and presenting sponsorship opportunities are available, as well as category-exclusive opportunities in several industries.

"By becoming a USPT Championship sponsor, a business can reach thousands of golfers through our week-long putting championship and our many qualifying events held nationwide throughout the year," said USPT president, Jim Hartley.

Hartley indicated that each golf sponsorship program with the USPT will be customized to fit with the sponsor's marketing budget and goals. The programs can encompass everything from national promotions and advertising campaigns to grassroots interactive marketing with participants and fans.

Also, naming rights to be the primary 2011 USPT Championship golf tournament sponsor are available for companies and brands that can act quickly, Hartley said.

The USPT Championship can accommodate several hundred competitors, including amateurs and professionals, who will compete for a $10,000 first prize, merchandise awards, the title of America's Best Putter and the USPT Championship trophy.

More information on how to enter and how to become a USPT sponsor is available at the U.S. Putting Tour website and by emailing info@usputtingtour.com.
