Caylee Anthony Grandparents Stand By Daughter as Body is Found

The grandparents of missing toddler Caylee Anthony are standing by their daughter Casey Anthony, who is accused of killing the 3-year-old. An attorney said Monday that George and Cindy Anthony continue to stand by Casey as authorities try to identify the remains of a child found last Thursday near their home.

Investigators continue to comb the area where the skeletal remains of a young child resembling Caylee was found by a utility worker. The site, located a half a mile from the Anthony’s home, is being searched for more bones and any other evidence.

“Significant finds have been made. At this point, we cannot identify what items have been recovered,” said Commander Captain Angelo Nieves.

Attorney Brad Conway says that the Anthony’s are “devastated” that a toddler’s body has been found and are waiting to grieve until they know the child is Caylee.

"They're not grieving yet, because they don't know whose body this is, but if it is identified as Caylee they're going to go through that grieving process privately, and when they're ready to speak, they will," Conway said.

Caylee disappeared in June but Casey, 22, waited a month to report her missing. She has been charged with first degree murder in the case and is currently being held in a Florida prison.
