Karren Brady doesn't fear Sugar

Karren Brady isn't scared of Lord Alan Sugar.

The businesswoman is one of the multi-millionaire tycoon's aides on 'The Apprentice', but she insists she isn't as intimidated by the spiky boss as the job hopefuls are in the boardroom.

When asked if she has ever been scared of Alan, she said: "Um, no."

Karren insists she enjoys a more informal relationship with the 63-year-old technology mogul than most people, as they have known each other for years because of their involvement in football.

Alan was formerly the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, while Karren was previously the managing director at Birmingham City and is now vice-chairman of West Ham United.

She revealed: "I call him Alan, but he's Lord Sugar to everyone else!

"When I was doing the interviews for 'The Apprentice' he said, 'You need to call me Alan - I've known you for 20 years!' "

The 41-year-old brunette admits she was nervous about taking over from Margaret Mountford on the BBC One show, but received a boost when the long-standing advisor told her she was doing a good job

Karren added: "Margaret told me since that she thinks I'm doing a good job. She advised me to wear sensible shoes, which I didn't listen to, and in the first episode I ended up in a pair of flip-flops!"
