Narconon Advises Family Members of Addicts

When someone is addicted it’s often the family member that suffers. Narconon drug rehab is reaching out to help family members of addicts.

There is often a gap in reality between what an addict feels and thinks about life and what their family members see. To help with this Narconon, drug and alcohol rehabilitation program offers helpful education and tips to families who are watching a loved one struggle with addiction.  One way family members can be in better control over helping loved ones who are addicted is to get as educated as possible on the different drugs, the signs and symptoms and of course effective treatments.

Narconon maintains ongoing public awareness and education campaigns designed to help people understand the truth about drugs and addiction, and how to go about solving the problem of substance abuse.  This includes offering booklets and other publications, videos, pamphlets and in-person seminars, among other things.

Narconon seeks to empower addicts and family members by providing education and tools to help people regain control over their lives and end substance abuse.  For family members this can also include speaking with a counselor on how to get their loved one into treatment, but also to be able to fully understand what drugs do to a person mentally and physically.

In recent months Narconon Arrowhead has been distributing its helpful series 101 Tips for Recovery as part of its continued efforts.  There is also an abundance of information provided by Narconon centers on their various websites.

The facility specializes in all hardcore addictions including, heroin addiction, methamphetamine, marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine, and prescription drugs as well as alcohol.

One of the best things a family member can do is learn about the program their loved one is going through, and Narconon of Oklahoma encourages family members to become involved in the program through family counseling and education as well.  The goal is to be able to apply what someone has learned in treatment and for family members to be able to support their continued recovery afterward.
