The AT&T Company won the bid with Duetsche Telecom to purchase T-Mobile. The acquisition will mean 39 million new subscribers for AT&T and must be approved by the FCC. They beat out Sprint/ Nextel’s bid. If the FCC approves the sell T-Mobile customers will have to obtain new devices. T-Mobile currently runs on a 3G network and their phones won’t work on AT&T’s 4G network.
