Bruno Mars won't make drug mistake again

Bruno Mars has vowed not to make the same mistake again after he was charged with drug possession last year.

The 'Grenade' singer was arrested in Las Vegas last September after being caught with cocaine and while Bruno doesn't believe he has any obligation to set a good example to his fans he doesn't want to repeat the experience.

He told America's GQ magazine: "I'm not gonna preach that I'm a role model. I'm a f***ing musician! But I've learned people are watching, so don't do nothing stupid."

The 25-year-old Grammy nominee - real name Peter Gene Hernandez - agreed earlier this year to pay a fine of $2,000 and complete 200 hours of community service in a plea bargain which will see his criminal record remain clear, as long as he doesn't re-offend in the next year.

Bruno landed himself in trouble when a bathroom attendant suspected him of taking drugs in the toilets of the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel.

Security confronted him after the staff member complained he was "taking a really long time" and he was found to be in possession of the drug.

The 'Just The Way You Are' hitmaker was then arrested after tests proved the substance was cocaine.

He later said he "did a foolish thing" and had "never used drugs before".
