Chris Fountain's jealous girlfriend

Chris Fountain's girlfriend is jealous he has to flirt with gorgeous Michelle Keegan on 'Coronation Street'.

The 23-year-old actor - who has been dating dancer Jessica Derrick for almost a year - admitted his partner was green with envy when she found out Chris' flirtatious alter-ego Tommy Duckworth would set his sights on Michelle's character Tina McIntyre.

He explained: "I can't lie - Michelle is a great-looking girl. In fact, my girlfriend, Jess, said to me, 'I bet you end up getting with Tina'. She was really happy when I got the part. I just don't think she's very happy about Michelle Keegan.

"I think it'll be all right - she trusts me enough! Obviously she was a little bit put out when she found out I was going to be working with Michelle a lot - as any girl in the country would be!"

However, Tommy's attempts to woo the ladies of Weatherfield look set to fall flat when he tries it on with teenage lesbian Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) and her girlfriend Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson).

Chris added to new! magazine: "In the first episode, Tommy tries to chat Sophie up, which doesn't go down too well, and then he sees Sian and has a go with her.

"When he realises they're together, he goes, 'What a waste!'"
