Ohio Summer Camp Adds Program for Middle School Students

The nation’s leading academic and life skills summer camp, SuperCamp, announced today that it is adding a seven-day residential camp for middle school students this July at its Kent State, Ohio location.

The middle school summer camp helps students entering grades 6-8 discover their individual learning styles and develop skills for dealing with a heavier academic schedule. They also learn how to make responsible choices and win the support, understanding and guidance of teachers and parents.

SuperCamp’s middle school camps also serve as a bridge into its 10-day teen summer camps, which focus on high school-level learning and life skills, college prep, test-taking techniques, interpersonal and leadership skills, and time management for homework and studying.

“This is our first year with Kent State summer camps and the response has been phenomenal,” said SuperCamp vice-president, Joe Chapon. “By adding this new junior high camp, middle school students throughout Ohio and the midwest can now experience the excitement and energy of SuperCamp."

Both of SuperCamp's Ohio summer camps can accommodate 100 students. The programs are residential, meaning students reside on-campus for the duration of the camp. The new middle school camp will be held from July 25 through July 31. In addition, a Parent Weekend program  will run on July 29, 30 and 31.

Over 57,000 students have graduated from SuperCamp worldwide since the academic summer camp launched in 1982. Attendance is expected to surpass 60,000 students in 2011.
