Stolen ostrich runs home

A stolen ostrich managed to find its way back home in Romania.

The huge bird ran at a speed of 40mph from its captors back to its farm in Pitesti.

Although the creatures are known for their ability to run fast, they are not recognised for their sense of direction.

Owner Florin Diaconescu, 47, said: "I had given her up as gone forever.

"But I saw this cloud of dust heading towards the farm and she came running into the yard as fast as her legs would carry her."
