Teen Summer Camp Shows Teens and Parents how to Build Rapport

SuperCamp's summer camps for high school and middle school students develop communication and life skills in students and provide three-day programs for parents

SuperCamp's teen summer camps also give parents tools to support the continued personal growth of their teens after their return home from summer camp.

The academic summer camps for high school and middle school students have found the following to be worthwhile elements in building rapport with children:

  • Know what they like, how they think, and how they feel about what’s happening in their lives
  • Imagine what they say to themselves, about themselves
  • Know what keeps them from getting what they truly want. If you don’t know, ask
  • Speak the truth to them in a way they can hear it, clearly and gently
  • Have fun with them
  • Treat them as equals

Some of the beliefs that are taught and practiced at SuperCamps U.S. summer camps include:

  • Respect and caring - for ourselves and for others - is vitally important
  • Every person is gifted and capable of learning
  • There are no failures, only learning experiences through which we gain greater self-understanding
  • Positive support, a nurturing environment, and good communication are essential - for learning and for life

At these summer enrichment programs, SuperCamp's staff goes in-depth with campers ages 11 to 18 on how to build strong relationships with friends and family and on many other learning and life skills that help build grades, confidence and motivation.

SuperCamp also offers a unique three-day Parent Weekend at which parents of students in SuperCamp gain an insight into what their sons and daughters are learning in their programs and discover a great deal about relationship building within the family.
